Ferret Friends, Inc is located in the Tuscon, Arizona area. Our primary purpose is to provide information about ferrets, and to rescue homeless and unwanted ferrets.

A lost and found file is maintained, ferrets are kept until the owner is found or they are adopted. All rescued ferrets are given thorough vet checks, vaccinated for canine distemper and rabies, and if needed spayed and neutered.

For years, Morning Starr Animal Sanctuary had as its prime objective and/or finding the best homes for abandoned, abused and unwanted animals of all kinds. At one time we had as many as 50 ferrets, thus becoming the experts we are with these little creatures. We’ve been “home” to an eclectic array of animals such as goats, horses, pigs, a very domineering duck, many bunnies, and at one time an emu. Hundreds more animals have passed through our doors and been held in our arms over the years.

We will continue to do our best to find excellent foster and permanent homes when needs arise; and we’ll continue our commitment of care, food and supplies when unwanted litters are born.

Time Goes On and Things Change
Many of you, our wonderful supporters and volunteers, have been instrumental in the recent opening of our Morning Starr Spay/Neuter Clinic in Cottonwood. Many others of you have followed closely our struggles and great successes in getting the clinic off the ground. In this new endeavor for Morning Starr, we want to be sure our mission, passion and commitment reflect our new focus: Reducing the unwanted and unsustainable animal population.

We know in our hearts that this change is for the better, and we’re excited at the prospect of making a real impact in our communities.

Our Mission
Morning Starr’s new mission is to fight and conquer this serious and growing problem of uncontrolled animal population growth.

We are committed to try harder to help dog and cat owners, especially, realize the benefits to their own families’ health, safety and well-being of spay/neutering their pets.

The Morning Starr Spay/Neuter Clinic is dedicated to providing affordable solutions without any compromise in either the quality of care or the first-class professionalism of its veterinarians.

Rezweezil Ferret Rescue and Shelter came in existence after taking in eight ferrets in one month, and a ferret shelter operator convinced C. Williams to register as a rescue with the nonprofit ferret organization Support Our Shelters. Williams’ original plan was to work with the only ferret shelter in New Mexico, but it closed within a few months, leaving Williams’ Rezweezil Ferret Rescue and Shelter as the only shelter. Some years later, she moved to an isolated part of Arizona and her focus shifted to being a hospice/sanctuary, although she still rescues.
